Resuming Normalcy to Church Life

Dear Beloved Congregation,

The peace and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Wishing all our congregants a blessed Lent.

We are thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ for the lifting up of all capacity limits for places of
worship and the removal of all protective measures except the face mask in some provinces. This
gives us all a great opportunity to restore normalcy in our lives. Below is how we plan to restore
normalcy in our church life. The following changes take effect starting Saturday March 5th,
2022:

  • There will be no need for registration to attend liturgical and regular church services. It is a
    great blessing that the lifting up of capacity limits comes with the beginning of Holy Lent;
therefore, we encourage all congregants to attend as many liturgies as possible and resume
their regular weekly attendance of church liturgies and services.
  • Capacity limits and proof of vaccination are also lifted from all sports activities and social
gatherings. This gives us an opportunity to resume normalcy to all church services such as
service meetings for all grades and ages, senior social gatherings, church cafeteria for Aghaby,
the use of church Gyms, and the use of church banquet halls without capacity limits or the
need to check proof of vaccination.
  • Since the Government and Public Health officials have removed Pandemic restrictions, the
time is now for the Churches to resume all the traditional rites and methods, including the
distribution of Holy Eucharist. Effective Saturday March 5th, 2022, all churches in the Diocese
will administer all sacraments consistent with the pre-Pandemic methods.

We worship our Lord in thanksgiving for His mercy and compassion for lifting up this pandemic
and for allowing us to worship Him in His house. We pray that He may protect the world from
famine, war and plagues. “Let us give thanks to the Lord; for He is good, for His mercy endures
forever.” (Ps. 117:1)

May the Lord accept our fasting and prayers during this blessed lenten season.
God bless you all,

Diocese of Mississauga, Vancouver and Western Canada
