You are cordially invited ta attend an Ecumenical Prayer Service entitled “Prayer for Peace” on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 3pm to 4pm at St. Micheal’s Cathedral Basilica (65 Bond Street, Toronto, ON M5B 1X5).
The event is hosted by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto and the “Prayer for Peace” service will be led by His Eminence Cardinal Thomas Christopher Collins (Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto, Canada) and His Grace Bishop Mina (Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Mississauga, Vancouver and Western Canada).
Sunday, September 10, 2017 is the Eve of the Coptic New Year, when martyrs are remembered by the Coptic Orthodox Church. To raise awareness of the suffering of Christians in the Middle East, an arrangement was made with the Roman Catholic Church to sponsor a remembrance prayer at St. Michael’s Cathedral in downtown Toronto.
This is a joint effort to remember the victims of violence, terror and persecution around the world, especially Copts (Christian in Egypt) and other Christians throughout the Middle East.
